Canter the Corrody – In Memory of Dermot McCrossan
Over the past number of years, our club has proudly hosted the Canter the Corrody 5km and the shorter Kids’ Fun Run as a key fundraising event. It has always been a day of community spirit, support, and togetherness — and one person who truly embodied that spirit was Dermot McCrossan.
Dermot was one of the event’s biggest supporters, always ready to offer advice and take part with great enthusiasm. His support to both the event and our club left a lasting impact, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Sadly, Dermot passed away in November. As a club and community, we want to honour his memory in a meaningful way. This year, we are proud to announce that the event will be renamed in Dermot’s honour — a tribute to the man who gave so much to the club and this fundraiser.
To mark the occasion even more specially, the event will now take place on Dermot’s birthday weekend. We hope this gesture helps keep his memory alive and reminds us all of the spirit and generosity he brought to everything he did.
